There are few things I or my hubby enjoy more than when I’m rocking super soft, subtle and oh-so-kissable lips. I wasn’t blessed with full lips but I’ve learned to whip up DIY beauty tricks like the best of them. Yes, I too appreciate a nice full pout every now and again, but mother nature skipped me when she was handing out the perfect pouts, so I’ve discovered a very easy plump trick that boosts my lip game in five minutes flat.
Somehow through the years, I discovered cinnamon is a natural lip plumper, YES, the same cinnamon that makes a hella apple pie. Because of its natural ingredients, it mildly irritates the skin on our lips, stimulating the blood supply, causing mine to turn rosy in color and swell slightly. I use cinnamon oil but you can do either the oil or the powder. Now, if you have a few extra minutes, before mixing your cinnamon and coconut oil, add a half teaspoons of honey with a half teaspoon of brown sugar, grab your exfoliating glove or a firm washcloth and exfoliate your lips. If you’re rushing, table the exfoliation for another day and just get your pout on.
Grab your oil or power. I’ve found the oil to be much stronger which I appreciate but it’s your preference, coconut oil at room temperature and your washcloth. Mix the cinnamon and coconut oil together, sniff (it smells delightful) and gently massage it into your lips. I allow the concoction to sit for about a minute or two and then I use the washcloth to gently remove it. Re-moisturize your lips with coconut oil with a dab of honey or a moisturizer of your choice.
